The position: Territory Manager

Territory: Edmonton, Alberta (travel required)

Reporting to: Sales Manager

Salary: Base salary + commission.

The Job

In this role you will work with new and existing accounts, building long-term customer relationships. You will source new business opportunities as well as maintain existing relationships through a combination of techniques, including networking, cold calling, supplied advertising, direct mailings with follow-up, and other proactive prospecting methods.

  • Work with companies in a wide range of industries, including construction, oilfield, equipment sales and rental, mining, transportation, utilities, government, etc.
  • Conduct and present research on potential new customers and how you may convert them into new business.
  • Key account management, developing relationships and utilizing the CRM system.
  • Working to targets, you will grow your territory through establishing new business relationships and maximize consignments using your already established network of contacts in the industry.
  • Gather market intelligence and develop a strategy/plan to effectively grow and manage consignments in your assigned territory.

The Person

To be successful in this role you must be all of the following:

Essential Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • A proven sales record with experience selling Construction/Heavy Equipment, auto or commercial vehicles . ie: Excavators, Backhoe Loaders, Skid Steers, Loaders, Gators/ASV, Telehandlers, Compressors, Generators, Cranes, Commercial Trucks, Pickups, RV’s etc.
  • Proven revenue attainment record through proactive lead generation and consultative selling techniques.
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Have excellent business presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and applications.
